Albyn have developed an innovations network which spans Europe and so has access to many varied and completely new ideas. We deal with agencies and individuals alike and this helps keep our product ranges fresh and innovative and actively seek out these often difficult to find ideas through these channels.
One example of how this network really does work is Sunsure. Through the European IRC network a German inventor Marcus Weiss was contacted and his skin-checking device investigated. Albyn now have the exclusive rights to manufacture Sunsure and to market it worldwide.
Another new product launched by Albyn is Thudguard - a protective safety hat guards childrens heads against bumps, bruising and lacerations, while they develop and explore their new found mobility.
Thudguard was invented by mother-of-three, Kelly Forsyth-Gibson, Kelly came up with the idea after her youngest daughter - who was one at the time - fell and bumped her head and a subsequent search for a lightweight safety hat was unsuccessful. In 2002, Ms Forsyth-Gibson was a finalist in the British Female Inventor of the Year awards and was also short-listed the year before for the Sir Ian Wood Award for Innovation. The product has been 6 years in development and is now being distributed and supported by Albyn.
